Good luck with your dead twig though - I think that might be pushing optimism a bit too far. If I was you I'd go out and buy a healthy blackcurrant plant just to cover your bases. Peas and mangetout - essentially the same thing. I've not tried them in a tub but dwarf beans in a tub worked well, so similar. Slugs always get most of ours lol.
